Nina Music Sing, Sign & Dance at the Opera House

Posted by Mauch Chunk Opera House at 8:47 AM

Whenever there is an opportunity to expose children to music, I am always very excited. So you can imagine how thrilled I was to learn that JTams had booked an award winning childrens' songwriter Nina of Nina's Music at the Mauch Chunk Opera House. Below is clip of some of the show.

Nina's music is fun and very engaging for both the adults and their children. The kids were invited to go onstage and participate in some of the numbers and were encouraged to dance and sing in the isle. They even learned a little sign language. Every child that attended enjoyed themselves, as was evident by the many smiles. At the end of the show they received a free CD of her album Shake, Shake, Shake that she personally signed for each and every child.

We're also proud that Nina is a Jim Thorpe H.S graduate, so she was here performing in her very own backyard. Her full touring schedule is available at her website http://ninamusic.com/ along with information about her music program for children called "Cognitive and Physical Development through Music" , and copies of her CD.

We hope that Nina will return and perform again.

Our next children event will be the Victorian Halloween Magic-Lantern Show on October 24th at 7:30pm. It is America's only 1890's, Victorian-era, Halloween and visual extravaganza projected on a full-sized screen - the kind of boisterous show that lead to the movies! Spooktacular stories like The Raven, animated comedy, and songs - all dramatized on screen by a live shoman and singer/pianist. The audience participates in teh fun, creating sound effects, joining in changes and hilarious sing-alongs. For adults and children 6+. Tickets can be purchased online here or by calling 570-325-0249

We hope to see you there.
